Bolivias Fruit is a small, family-owned company that represents selectedrural campesino-owned grower co-ops in processing and marketing their fruits, and in assisting these farming communities in obtaining a higher quality oflife while conserving low-impact farming in the fragile rain forestecosystem. Bolivias Fruit requires that all products that it markets are grown, harvested, and produced in a sustainable and environmentally responsible manner. Bolivias Fruit is strongly committed to the policythat each grower co-op receive Fair Trade value for their crops. Bolivias Fruit is dedicated to the principle of equal and fair treatment for all its employees and encourages ethnic and cultural diversity in its workforce. Bolivias Fruit is committed to the placement of women in management positions when and where possible.Bolivias Fruit is owned and operated by two generations of the Camacho family.Since its inception, Bolivias Fruit has been repeatedly selected to represent Bolivian growers and processors in several international conventions. In 2004, Bolivias Fruit and its products were selected bythe Bolivian government as well as USAID to be exhibitors in the Latin America chamber of commerce and industry convention held in Miami, Florida as manufacturers of Chapare and Yungas rain forest products. The same year, Bolivias Fruits products were selected by the European Community(PRAEDAC) to be part of the Bolivian exhibition at the ANUGA, Germany International Food Convention. Currently Bolivias Fruit is exporting itsproducts in bulk form, as well as under the Bolivias Fruit label, to distributors in the United States as well as Canada and is scheduled to start distribution of its products to Europe in early 2005.Bolivias Fruit specializes in drying all types of fruit, teas, herbs and medicinal plants. Bolivias Fruit also produces and markets several lines of Quinoa based cereals,quinoa energy bars, tropical marmalades, jams, rain forest honey and honey by-products, Fair Trade Arabica Specialty Coffee, as well ascertified organic Specialty coffee, Brazil nuts, cacao, and assorted chocolate covered dried fruits. Bolivias Fruits chocolates do not containany trans fats or hydrogenated oils, nor are any artificial colors, artificial flavors or artificial preservatives used in any of its products or processes.Bolivias Fruit production capacity varies from each product but its production capacity is designed to service the individual buyer as well as the bulk container buyer.Bolivias Fruit is currently Kosher certified and is in the process of redesigning its plant and training its staff to meet ISO 9000 standards as well as HACCP certification for late 2005.Bolivias Fruit is located in the majestic Cochabamba valley of Bolivia.
