It ventured into the cell phone industry after realising that BTC (The soul provider of landlines in the country) could not provide communucation in remote areas due to cost effictiveness. Both network operators(service providers) in the country namely MASCOM and ORANGE have a country wide coverage hence the need to introduce affordable handsets, this will force a large part of the population to aquire handsets.
